WOODLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH RE-OPENING FOR IN-CHURCH WORSHIP
Woodland Hills Christian Church (WHCC) will be reopening our worship services on June 28, 2020 and wishes to do so in as safe a manner as practicable. We have prayerfully considered the unique characteristics of our facility, style of worship, and the congregation we serve and have developed a plan for gathering back for worship. For those members of the congregation that are currently finding their spiritual, emotional, and mental health needs being met through our on-line services, and still do not feel comfortable gathering at church, WHCC will still provide a virtual worship service. We understand that people have been patiently waiting for church to re-open and are anxious to participate in person-to-person worship. But we ask that you be considerate of others in deciding to come to church on Sunday. People should not come to church if they exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, have been diagnosed with COVID-19, have been exposed to someone exhibiting COVID 19 symptoms, or have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19. If anyone, including members of their household, have recently participated in a high-risk activity or visited a high-risk facility, they should also postpone their return to church. Additionally, those in the highest risk categories should also continue to worship at home. Those in the high-risk categories include, but are not limited to: Aged 65 or older Immune compromised Diabetic Heart & lung conditions Those exhibiting COVID symptoms or who have been exposed to others with COVID symptoms WHCC will be adhering to the California State guidelines for churches and ask that you take the following steps to help limit exposure for yourselves and others. On the morning of the worship service we ask all who attend to follow all safe social distancing practices when arriving at the church facility, during the worship service in the sanctuary, and when leaving the church facility. Please bring a face covering that covers both nose and mouth as these will be required for all attendees. If you do not have one, we will be glad to provide one upon arrival at the church. Gloves are available but not mandatory. When you arrive at the sanctuary entrance, your temperature will be taken by a no-contact temperature device. You will then be directed into the sanctuary and reminded to practice safe social distancing. Please follow all directions during and after the service to ensure safe worship and movement of yourself and others. WHCC will be working with local health authorities to develop the required contact tracing protocol. If someone who attends the church service has a positive COVID- 19 test, this will be managed by the local health authority. WHCC will be following COVID-19 prevention practices in accordance with the California guidelines for churches. Among other directives, the guidelines do not allow youth/children’s worship at this time. Families in the same household will be able to sit and worship together in the sanctuary. Please contact the church office if you have any questions or concerns about our church opening for worship services. Sincerely, Pastor Jim Thomsen
